A random assortment of my daily activities and ponderings. Maybe it will be boring, maybe it will be mind-blowingly exhiliarting. It is a grand experiment in exploring the brilliance of this thing those crazy kids are calling the "World Wide Web".

December? Really? Are you sure?

Okay let me just be the first to say that this is NOT December. It is ridiculously warm outside- not just warm, but ridiculously warm! Where's the frost? The bite in the air? Now I'm well aware that NC folks have been wearing their scarves and heavy jackets for weeks now, but seriously you guys...global warming must be getting bad. I still have my air conditioning on for crying out loud! (And I would like to apologize to my roommate for that one...) Anyways, all I'm saying is there better be snow on the runway when I get off the plane in Colorado or I will be SORELY disappointed!! Have an awesome break everyone!

Chapel Hillian Gents

Within the span of a few days, I have met 2 polite Chapel Hillian gents. One, upon spotting my precarious, and yet brilliant, act of balancing my take-out from Chase, silverware, and drink, kindly opened the door to Craige for me. But this was no small feat, for not only did he open the first door (with his arm), he also opened the second door with his leg. That was neat. It makes me think that Stretch Armstrong could make a comeback if only he did something useful- like open doors for uncoordinated Chapel Hillian girls. Gent #2 kindly paid for my laundry last night after I suffered the agony and embarrassment of seeing "funds rejected" flash across the One Card machine. So somewhere...out there (on the third floor), there is a boy $0.50 poorer because he saw my need for dry clothes as worthy of his pocket change. And to this boy I say- thank you. Alas, don't let anyone tell you that the Southern gentlemen are a dying breed because, with me as their witness, the boys of Chapel Hill are doing just fine....
